A refreshing summer smoothie... and good for you too!

Green Smoothie

This smoothie is ideal for everyday detoxification and loaded with fiber. It is packed with a powerful punch of kale a surfer green, and good source of fiber, vitamin C, Magnesium , Folate and B6. The avocado provides creaminess and thickness to the smoothie. It is rich in fiber with potassium, vitamin C and K. Avocado also contains monounsaturated fats good for inflammation, which is at the root cause of many diseases. The fresh mint and pineapple make this a refreshing and delicious smoothie.

Add all ingredients to a high-powered blender, and blend until smooth:

1⁄2 fresh pineapple, peeled

1 small avocado, pitted and peeled

1⁄2 bunch kale

Small handful fresh mint or cilantro

2 to 3 cups coconut water or water

Optional: Add 6 ice cubes to make it cooling
