Let the sun shine down!

Sunlight has many benefits, beyond providing light, feeding plants, and warming the soul!

It is an excellent source of Vitamin D. Try having face and arms exposed for 20 minutes without sunscreen to get the daily recommended dose. Vitamin D is fat soluble, so your body can store it and save it for a rainy day… or at least store it for a couple of days.

Sunlight also is important in our serotonin production. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter or nervous system signaling chemical that affects mood, sleep, appetite, digestion, memory, and sexual desire. Sunlight stimulates the production of serotonin in the brain and intestines, further proof that your gut reaction or feeling is real!

Sunlight also provides phototherapy (sun therapy), which is helpful for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

So step outside and enjoy that sunshine!
